This session will introduce the resources necessary for non computer science teachers to introduce their students to the fundamentals of Computer Science and Coding. Innovative Computing Experience is a unique program that goes beyond the instruction of computer science and coding by placing an emphasis on Computational Thinking, Design Thinking, and Leadership and Development modules. This STEM program is designed to introduce the key concepts of Computer Science and Coding across the curriculum. Participants in this course will be introduced to the resources necessary to launch a meaningful “Hour of Code” event at their school and begin the discussion of how to introduce computer science and coding to their students. Innovative Computing Experience is a project based program which relies on a variety of puzzles, challenges, collaborative projects, and several computer programming languages to engage students from grades 1-12 in the world of computer science. The vision of this approach is to help inspire and develop the innovators and creators of the next generation.
